Patricia Heaton joins Frasier Season 2 cast (2024)

Patricia Heaton is joining the cast of Frasier for the revival show's second season.

The Everybody Loves Raymond star, 66, will have a recurring guest star role on the Paramount+ series, according to Deadline.

Her appearance on the show will mark a reunion for her and Kelsey Grammer, 69, with whom she previously starred on 2007 TV series Back to You.

Grammer — whose daughter will star on the show as well — also appeared on her 2019 CBS series Carol's Second Act, where he played her ex-husband.

On Frasier, Patricia is set to play Holly, 'who is down-to-earth, unpretentious, and openly mocking of overly-intellectual types.'

'A Boston native who tends bar at upscale restaurants and events, Holly is extraordinarily comfortable with both who and where she is in life, a quality that the always-climbing, always-reaching Frasier (Grammer) finds as alien as he does attractive.'

Kelsey executive produces and reprises his role as Harvard psychology lecturer, Dr. Frasier Crane, in the upcoming 10-episode second season of Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli's reboot on Paramount+.

The show follows him in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston to deal with new challenges.

In season two, Amy Sedaris will guest star as municipal therapist Dr. 'Doc' Stathos, who's a 'big fan of Frasier Crane from his old TV talk show.'

Frasier is a reboot of the NBC sitcom of the same name, which aired for 11 seasons spanning 1994-2004, and it all stemmed from the classic NBC sitcom Cheers, which aired for 11 seasons spanning 1982-1993.

Kelsey's daughter Greer Grammer will also star on the show.

The 32-year-old nepo-baby will portray Alice, the free-spirited daughter of Frasier's former radio producer Roz Doyle (Peri Gilpin) who 'moved to Providence to study architecture and is eager to catch up with his son Freddy (Jack Cutmore-Scott).'

'[My fourth wife] Kayte and I were talking about how it's really something that a child would follow in their father's footsteps,' the Emmy winner said in his Variety cover story.

'To think that all my kids, at least the ones that have a hand in the air, are ready to take responsibility for their lives, are all drawn to this industry.'

'And she said, "That's something to be proud of." It's something I've never told them. I'm hoping they're going to read [my upcoming memoir] and realize, "Oh, so Dad's okay with this."

'Because I never wanted to push myself on them. I never wanted to force them into the industry or intrude too much into their process.'

'Because it's a bit of a mixed blessing to have my last name. People take it out on you. You get some attention maybe because of it. And there's a split as to whether or not it's good or bad.'

Kelsey - who co-starred with his daughter Spencer Grammer in Lifetime's 2022 movie The 12 Days of Christmas Eve - said he's happiest when all seven of his children are 'all in the same room together.'

'My work has allowed me to be able to do that,' Grammer gushed.

'I've been given this great experience. It's been painful and challenging and hard and tragic — all those things. But boy, it's a great life. And I want to pass that on to them.'

Greer - who holds a theater degree from USC - is the only child he welcomed with retired hair/make-up artist Barrie Buckner, whom he reportedly dated between 1991 and 1992.

The show was renewed for a second season in February.

Development on the revived version of Frasier began in the mid-2010s, although the program was not officially greenlit until February of 2021.

The first two episodes of the rebooted version of Frasier made their debut on Paramount+ on October 12 of last year.
