The brand new Fortnite Season 3 is just around the corner, bringing a Fallout-themed crossover, new weapons, vehicles, and more. Check out the first patch notes ahead of its May 24 release.

Another Fortnite season is upon us and this time it brings a highly anticipated Fallout crossover to an apocalyptic island. Chapter 5, Season 3 has generated a lot of hype among the player base thanks to a variety of teasers hinting at a new Battle Pass, POIs, weapons, and much more.

In addition, leaks have shown that there will be a Marvel crossover and that armored vehicles will also be added to the battle royale island. While there is still a lot to discover before the season releases on May 24th, here are the early patch notes with all the information.

Early Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 patch notes

Fallout Crossover

The hype surrounding the Fallout series still continues thanks to the hit Amazon Prime series, which fans love for its accuracy with the video game franchise. Now comes the highly anticipated crossover with the Fallout universe in Fortnite with the T-60 Power Armor skins and new weapons.

It's also hinted that a new POI will also be added to the map, similar to a nuclear factory in Fallout. Additionally, the T-60 Battle Pass skin will be customizable as a Black Knight variant was found in the teaser.

New POIs

Each of the three Fortnite image teasers revealed new double exposure-style POIs that will be added to the Chapter 5 map with the upcoming Season 3. One of them is called Nitro Drome, another is a replica of the legendary POI from Chapter 2. The Shark, and the last one is inspired by the Fallout universe.

Each of these points will replace the current POIs on the map, one of which is Fencing Fields, as stated in the Fortnite Spain teasers. Additionally, Snooty Steppes and Brawler's Battleground are also rumored to be seeing major changes with the addition of these new locations.

Battle Pass Skins

During Fortnite Chapter 5, players noticed several skins, some of which are rumored to be included in the upcoming Season 3 Battle Pass. One of them wearing a red helmet was teased in the video teaser released by Epic.

Others were decrypted by Leaker like ShiinaBR as they speculate that they will appear in the upcoming season. With the Fallout T-60 armor and red helmet confirmed to be in-game skins, the rest of the skins are also frontrunners in the Battle Pass.

Return of classic weapons and some new weapons

As seen in the T-60 Power Armor teaser, Combat AR will return to Fortnite with a new model that can be modified using a mod bank in Chapter 5, Season 3. Additionally, the Combat Shotgun is also rumored to be making a similar return to the loot pool.

Additionally, four new weapons were shown in the teaser: a flamethrower, a grappling hook, a laser rifle and a minigun. Rumor has it that all of them will be introduced as new weapons with the release of the season.

In addition, there is also speculation about the release of a Nuka-Cola consumable that will give players super speed, as a bottle-shaped item was seen in the teaser.

New wave of cooperation

Each Fortnite season brings a new collaboration to the game, which also brings a mid-season event to keep players busy. In Chapter 5 Season 2, the Avatar: Elements event intrigued players with new Mythics and a Mini Pass.

Likewise, leaks point to crossovers with Fall Guys, Pirates of the Caribbean, Marvel, Metallica, Disney, and more, all of which will be featured in Chapter 5, Season 3.

Modifiable and armored vehicles

At the recent Monster Jam 2024 event, several monster trucks and vehicles were seen that were themed around the upcoming Fortnite season, hinting at new vehicles in the game. Content creators were also sent a remote-controlled car that looks armored from the front and has hooks for attaching a weapon.

This led to speculation among players that there will soon be moddable vehicles in Fortnite. However, the speculation became a teaser when Epic Games co-founder Mark Rein hinted that weapon attachments for vehicles will be added to the game.
